Just like “good luck” happens for folks who work hard, “magic” can happen when we dare to do the hard things, when we dare to go against the flow, break habits, climb out of the routine, and take back our freedom.
I believe in magic, and it’s more likely to occur when I say “no,” though part of me wants the familiar comfort of saying “yes.” That means that I’ll face the truth of my real feelings, without glossing over, numbing, or burying them.
In time I will learn to live life on life’s terms, rather than hide from the emotions which define the human experience. The most noble part of me knows that this is the right thing to do, and other parts of me are scared.
Just for today
I will earnestly try to do what is right – even when it’s neither comfortable nor familiar.
