I can’t look out the window this time of year and not think about change. Sometimes we think we need a change of scenery. We feel stuck, sluggish, uninspired, or unmotivated. A change of scenery MIGHT be a good way to stimulate some movement. But SOMETIMES what we really need isn’t a change of scenery. We need to change us in some way.
Maybe instead of passively watching television tonight, you could dust off a jigsaw puzzle from the closet, brew yourself a cup of herbal tea and give the puzzler part of your brain some fun.
Change of habit, change of menu, change of schedule, change of goals – may this season of beautiful change inspire us to stretch toward our best selves! Remember to be compassion with yourself. Remember that “perfect” is a myth. But invite a positive change into your life. Set your sights on a better version of you! That’s a lovely sight indeed!
Often a change of self is needed more than a change of scene.
