New Eyes

As we round the corner and head towards the end of the year, I’m wondering if or how we might have “new eyes” that allow us to see differently and be different. Yes! See different, be different. As we approach the end of one remarkable year and the beginning of a new year, this intriguing photograph made me think of this quote:

“The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
-Marcel Proust

When we look back at this year, will we have survived or thrived? What if we could look at this day – this moment – each moment – with a breath of fresh air and fresh eyes? There is plenty in this world that is out of our control, fresh eyes can help us see new opportunities and new possibilities right in front of us (or deep within us!)

I suspect that each of – if we take the time to ponder – will arrive at a different and perhaps very personal idea of what “new eyes” means. Please ponder, mentally wander, and may your eyes be often new. With fresh breath in our lungs and fresh eyes with which to see, that unknowable future can be exciting!
