Slow, intentional, deep breathing is #GoodMedicine! Here are an assortment of GIFs that you may want to download and save on your phone. Try deep breathing with each of them and find the one that feels good to you.


The ones above allow equal time for the in-breath and the out-breath. The one below adds time to hold the breath. The in and out are done to different counts and there is the addition of a hold. The specifics of the counts is as follows: In (4 count) hold (7 count) out (8 count.) This 4-7-8 breathing may be useful for specific purposes. Read more about it here. The GIF below might represent what I call “square breathing,” because there are 4 equal counts – in, hold, out, hold. Again, try them all and see which one works best for you.
