At any given moment YOU have the POWER to CHOOSE how YOUR STORY goes.
And remember that EVERY time you tell your story, you’re hearing it again. So, if you’re the most frequent audience you talk to, let’s be sure the story has hopeful and helpful words in it. For instance, if trauma is a part of your past, describing yourself as a “survivor of trauma” sounds (and feels) better than “victim of trauma.”
Listen closely to the words you use when you describe yourself, when you explain your circumstances, when you envision your future.
