“Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.”
– Henry Ward Beecher*
Let’s go out of our way to express gratitude today. And if your circumstances make it hard to feel thankful, then I’m especially excited for you because expressing gratitude can really shift our mood. Even in the midst of your challenge, you may find a smile creeping across your face!
So please accept the challenge to list three things for which you’re grateful three times today. Try doing it before each meal if that helps you remember. It really can flip our perspective (and maybe even turn a frown upside down.)
Expressing the gratitude gives it the power to “infect” others, so try to share your gratitude with others and watch what happens!
My gratitude: I am daily grateful that I have opportunity to serve folks who are brave enough and hopeful enough to be on this journey. Your courage and hope embolden me. I’m quite certain that I’m more compassionate because of you.
–Thank you!

* I had heard the name Henry Ward Beecher, but really couldn’t recall anything I had ever learned about them, so I went to Wikipedia. They seem like an interesting fellow. I’m also grateful for Wikipedia.
