First Snowfall

The first snowfall of the season can be a magical thing. In some ways it creates a fresh, clean, even sparkling world. Fallen leaves, dried and dead, are first sugar-coated and then completely vanish under the mounting flakes of white. Breathe in the cold, crisp air and be encouraged by the fresh start offered in a world wearing it’s coat of new fallen snow.

Today I will choose not bemoan the change in weather, nor will I gripe about traffic traveling at a slower pace or the dropping temperature. Maybe slowing down is beneficial! Today I will look with hope-filled eyes at the twinkling flakes of snow and imagine the good things which wait just ahead. Grumbling or gratitude? It’s up to us to choose.

If you don’t think it matters of we grumble or choose gratitude, you’ll want to watch this short video! I claim no rights to this brilliant Tremendousness video.

Change is constant; changes come.
At first snowfall, I could say “ho hum!”
Or I could decide to enjoy the beauty.
Curse or blessing – what’ll you see?

May you choose to embrace this day as a new beginning for any area of your life that feels stagnant or stuck.

And feel free to send me a pretty photo of your first snowfall!
