I’mperfect

NOTE: I wrote this short post in 2017. Since then, I have become aware of some comments made by J K Rowling that are disrespectful to transgender individuals. That’s a big deal to me! I vehemently disagree with her position on trans rights, AND (not but) I also love some of her novels. I think she serves as a great example of the point this post is trying to make. Despite her shortcomings, I have decided that I’m still going to love the books she wrote. It turns out she’s imperfect. So am I. Her quote is no less true – in fact it may prove her point (ahem) perfectly.

The world around you needs your (imperfect) help and support! Get out there and show your care, and watch what happens.

Offer the best support you can to another person today. Do your best job supporting or assisting another person today. You won’t be perfect. (SPOILER ALERT! – People aren’t perfect.) But showing up and showing you care can change the world. So look around. There is someone in your midst who will appreciate your imperfect support or assistance. You’ll feel great and they will, too. Bring your brilliantly flawed self to the game and make it better today! Nobody needs to be perfect in order to help.

“Perfection is not necessary to make a real and lasting difference to other people’s lives.”
– J K Rowling
